On August 20, 2022, the President of the Puntland Government, Mr. Said Abdullahi Deni, laid the foundation stone for a road that will connect the cities of Sherbi, Dhahar, and Xingalol.
The President of the Puntland Government has expressed the importance of this road for Puntland, noting that this road will connect the people of Haylaan Region to other Puntland Regions and will contribute to the development of trade and the export of livestock.
This road, which is 55 km long, will be funded by the Puntland government and the African Development Bank, Save the Children, and the IGAD regional organization. The construction of this road will be started, and the plan is to complete it in a short time.
CEO of the Puntland Road Authority (PHA), Mr. Abditifah Mohamed Sugule attended the stone-laying foundation ceremony with the president, the Sultan Mohamed Abdullahi Cartan, officials of the Ministry of Public Works, the Road Construction Company, heads of the African Development Bank, Save The Children, and IGAD, some members of the Puntland Government Councils, Haylaan State Officials, and the District Community Afternoon.
